ANTHROPOLOGICAL RESEARCH ON THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DETERMINANTS THAT INFLUENCE CHRONIC MALNUTRITION IN THE DISTRICTS OF METUGE AND MECUFI IN THE PROVINCE OF CABO DELGADO

The main objective of the study was to describe the economic, social, cultural, structural and political determinants that influence the health and nutritional status of the child population aged 0 to 59 months, in the districts of Metuge and Mecúfi, in the province of Cabo Delgado. Specifically, the study aimed to carry out the analysis:

• Socio-cultural aspects;
• Housing conditions and accessibility;
• Hygiene and safety conditions in the housing space;
• Access to health services;
• In power and gender relations within the household and at the social level; and
• On the nutrition situation during pregnancy and household food security.
